Rodgers Family Cemetery - Stantonsburg, NC

This cemetery is located just over the Wilson County line on Bar Tee Bridge Road, on the left after you pass Tyson Farm Road. It is directly on the side of the road, but hidden in the trees. While technically in Wilson County, I am including it here because many of the people buried here have Greene County roots. 

It is commonly known in the area as the Rodgers Family Cemetery. The Rodgers Family had homesites along Bar Tee Bridge Road.

Dildy-Beamon Cemetery, Greene County, NC

This cemetery is located off a dirt path, about a mile from Contentnea Creek.

According to a Mr. Bundy, who looks after this cemetery, there used to be several sunken places indicating that there were additional unmarked graves. He had them filled in and covered over. He said there were more unmarked ones than marked ones.

Bailey-Mercer Cemetery, Walstonburg, NC

According to notes made in 2004 by Evelyn Hendricks, the Bailey-Mercer Cemetery is located in a field about a half mile or so from State Road 1311. The roads since that time have been changed.

The cemetery is known as the Bailey-Mercer Cemetery, but also as the Bailey Cemetery or the Mercer Cemetery. It is on land that was owned by David Millard "Dove" Bailey. His wife was a Mercer and it is likely that he inherited the land from his wife's father, Jacob Mercer.

The Bailey Cemetery is located on land formerly owned by Joseph Bailey. It is located at 606 N Wilson Street, Walstonburg, NC in a field just off of the highway.

This cemetery is also known as the Ellis Cemetery and has been at times mistaken to be the Walstonburg Cemetery.
